Karen Liu Named to 2026 New York Metro Super Lawyers List
Reid & Wise LLC is pleased to announce that Karen (Zhenkun) Liu, Head of the firm’s Corporate & Fund Formation practice, has been named to the Thomson Reuters 2026 New York Metro Super Lawyers list — her second consecutive year of selection. Ms. Liu is one of three Reid & Wise attorneys recognized on this year’s list.
Karen Liu’s Practice and Honors
Ms. Liu’s selection to the 2026 New York Metro Super Lawyers list follows her inclusion on the 2025 list. Prior to that, she was recognized by Super Lawyers as a Rising Star for two consecutive years, in 2023 and 2024. Her practice areas encompass corporate formation, private fund formation, corporate transactions, alternative investments, and investment management.
In her practice, Ms. Liu has long represented onshore and offshore venture capital, private equity, hedge funds, EB-5 funds, real estate funds, and hybrid funds on fund formation and ongoing operational and compliance legal matters. For her corporate clients, Ms. Liu advises established companies and startup founders on business formation, contract review, compliance consultancy, and various financings, transactions and investments. For her investor clients, Ms. Liu helps EB-5 investors, real estate fund investors, and venture capital investors in the review and negotiation of investment documents. She has also represented clients of both sides in due diligence and transactional legal matters relating to domestic and cross-border joint ventures, financings, and mergers and acquisitions.
Fellow Reid & Wise Attorneys Named to the 2026 List
In addition to Ms. Liu, two other Reid & Wise attorneys have been named to the 2026 New York Metro Super Lawyers list: Managing Member Shiyong Ye and Partner Matthew Sava, Head of Litigation — each selected for the fifth consecutive year, from 2022 through 2026.
Mr. Ye has represented financial institutions, multinational corporations, and individual clients in litigation, arbitration, and dispute resolution matters involving more than $2 billion in investments. Mr. Sava, who began his legal career at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP and served as a senior law clerk to Judge Carmen Ciparick of the New York State Court of Appeals, focuses his practice on complex commercial disputes, EB-5 investment disputes, securities litigation, cross-border disputes, class actions, and international arbitration. He has obtained judgments, court orders, and settlements totaling more than $100 million for hundreds of EB-5 investors.
